Photographer Pierre Semere Documents the Everyday Existence of People in Burkina Faso, West Africa

Years ago, I was presented with a remarkable opportunity, thanks to my best friend Arnaud, to participate as a photographer in a humanitarian project in Burkina Faso.

As an artistic photographer with a deep passion for portraiture, I naturally embraced this chance to embark on a memorable journey in pursuit of a deeper understanding of the daily lives of the people in this region of Africa. It has been an incredible voyage! I have been consistently astonished by the profound warmth, creativity, and kindness of each individual I encountered. They graciously opened their hearts to my camera, and this collection represents the very best of their portraits!

About Pierre Semere

My journey with photography began over 16 years ago when I was a young photo assistant in Paris. This experience greatly contributed to enhancing my photographic techniques and expertise.

I’ve always been an avid traveler who enjoys exploring and capturing images of new lands, cultures, and traditions. Over the past few years, I embarked on numerous journeys, spanning from the western to the eastern parts of the globe, to fully immerse myself in my passion as an Art Photographer and Photo Journalist. I’m currently collaborating with numerous national and international magazines and brands. My professional journey took a new turn as I ventured into filmmaking. A trip to Vietnam in 2016 expanded my horizons and led me to my second home, where I have resided for over four years now.
